What is reflexology
Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive holistic therapy that works well alongside traditional treatments to promote better health and wellbeing. It works on the principle that there are areas in the feet and hands which correspond to organs, glands and other parts of the body. Reflexology may be able to help with a range of ailments, including the reduction of stress, sickness, tension and anxiety, stimulation of the lymphatic system, increasing circulation, increased energy and pain management. By applying pressure and massaging targeted areas, reflexology can help identify any imbalances in the body, aiming to bring those areas back to balance and thereby help the body to start healing itself!
The holistic approach
The holistic approach means that we look at treating the person as a whole rather than trying to treat just the symptoms. This is really important because we can often underestimate just how much our physical health can be affected by our emotions. Emotional issues such as stress and anxiety can minifest themselves as physical problems in the body, such as disturbed sleep, headaches and poor digestion.
With appointments at The Sage Therapy Centre in Nottingham, this modern centre offers supurb facilities, ensuring our clients of a comfortable, relaxing and tranquil experience.

Supporting stress, anxiety and depression
Reflexology can help with reducing the effect stress has on you by putting the body in a state of complete relaxation. In this state muscular tension is released, nerve function improved, blood and lymph circulate freely and overall health and wellbeing improve.
I’d been through a really stressful time I started feeling anxious and generally ‘low’. I found Paul to be very welcoming and understanding. Since having regular sessions, I feel my anxiety has decreased and I generally have a more positive outlook and I’m sleeping a lot better. I look forward to my monthly ‘uplifting’ appointments.

Vertical Reflexology Techniques (VRT)
I’m an authorised member of the VRT Network. It can be an incredibly effective technique that works on the dorsal (top) aspect of the hands and feet whilst weight bearing and can be included at the beginning and end of a traditional reflexology treatment or on its own.
The theory behind VRT is that the anatomic nerves in the feet and hands become sensitised when weight bearing, the reflexes are thus heightened creating a quicker therapeutic response. It can be particularly helpful for intransigent conditions such as muscular skeletal problems.
